Activities & Clubs

Our Drama Club began in Spring 2023, and membership has significantly increased over the past few years. We now have around 75 members from the fourth and fifth grades!
Our students practice several days a week from January to March to prepare for our performances. Together, we learn acting skills, memorize lines, engage in improvisation, create sets and props, and design advertisements for our shows!

Do you love to write?

Writing can be an isolating experience for kids. They sometimes need dedicated space and time to write and to be with kids who also love to write. WES' Writing Club leader, Ms. Cook, encourages kids to write creatively and purposefully. They can work in a setting that fosters their love of “putting the pen to paper.” They can ask questions and share their writing pieces. In Cook’s Writing Club, kids have fun writing and listening to other kids' ideas.

Chorus

Led by Mr. Priest, our 4th and 5th-grade chorus meets every Tuesday and Thursday to prepare for school-wide performances. These rehearsals offer students a vital creative outlet while helping them refine their musical talents and share their voices with the local community.

For students seeking an additional challenge, Honors Chorus is available to those who demonstrate advanced vocal ability and a steadfast commitment to choral excellence. Each year, this elite group joins voices with students from across the Whitfield County School District's 13 elementary schools. This collaboration culminates in a "mega choir" performance, where students experience the power of performing in two-part harmony as one unified ensemble.
